The best fit is a business that:
• Has a proven trading history, typically 10 years or more
• Is profitable, even if growth has slowed
• Has a capable team and can operate under management
• Has clear, transferable customer relationships and systems
• Could benefit from better processes, digital tools or operational support
We generally focus on independent businesses rather than franchises.
Financial fit
Our indicative starting points are annual revenue of $1 million or more and reported owner earnings of $200,000 or more. These are guides rather than fixed rules.
We assess the underlying earnings after allowing for the cost of replacing the owner’s day-to-day work. We’ll also want to understand the team, cash flow and what a practical handover would involve.
